Introducing Domaine Saint Cyr

We are very happy to introduce Domaine Saint Cyr, our new Organic producer from Beaujolais.

This family vineyard of 28 Hectares has been managed for 4 generations and was Certified Organic in 2008.

The main part of the vineyard is located in the village of Anse in the South of Beaujolais with 7 ha of Chardonnay and 8 ha of Gamay (they also produce some Sauvignon Blanc).

In order to keep the biodiversity, the vineyards are left with grassy rows, this also helps to limit the yields and offer more sugary grapes, therefore delivering more fruity wines.

The Organic Viticulture practices are also combined with low intervention wine-making methods like carbonic maceration. Therefore every step is carefully chosen to produce healthier wines, from the vine to the bottle.

From the Sandy / Granitics Soils, to the exposure of the vines (like in the Chénas appellation), or with the high density of plantation (found in the Moulin a Vent plot), every decision contributes to control the yields in order to achieve ripeness and balance. As a result, the wines of Domaine Saint Cyr are fresh, fruity, easy drinking but they are also Complex.

Domaine Saint Cyr represents the very best of Beaujolais “Joie de vivre” and generosity above all, backed-up by good people and solid work in the vineyard and cellar.
