The Clos de Caveau is located at the top hillsides of the Vacqueyras appellation near the dentelles de Montmirail and is organic certified since 1989.
Its exceptionnal terroir dating from Oligocene epoch is particularly rich in limestone minerals and produces very elegant wines.
in 2006, the owner and winegrower Henri Bungener decided to unveil its secrets and discovered that each Horizontal geological stratas had a huge influence on the way each wine was supposed to be blend.
Therefore each plot is now vinified according to a strict selection, reflecting its subsoil and expressing different characteristics and minerality.
Champvermeil is made form another plot of 0.6 Ha, also in organic farming.
