The Cheverny appellation, in the south of the Loire river, is surrounded by Ch̢teaux such as Cheverny, Chenonceau, Chambord, Blois, Chaumont sur Loire.
The climate is an alternation of continental and oceanic influences, thus making it mild, sunny and only slightly rainy. The soils are siliceous clay and slightly gravelly.
