Ch\u00e2teau Tourril<\/strong>, led by St\u00e9phane Kandler since 2014, is a 12-hectare organic estate in Minervois, Languedoc, set on ancient Roman ruins. The remote location features rocky limestone soils and a unique microclimate between 60\u2013100 meters altitude, fostering resilient vines\u2014Carignan roots reach 11 meters deep. Since 2016, over 50% of plots have been replanted, focusing on younger, more approachable wines. The estate achieved organic certification in 2020. St\u00e9phane emphasizes simplicity with low-intervention winemaking and low-alcohol cuv\u00e9es (as low as 11% ABV). Reds like Cuv\u00e9e Philippe are made for easy drinking and never older than 2021.
