Cros des Calades is a young, organically farmed project in Grospierres (Ardèche/southern Rhône), created in the 2010s by Florence and Benoît Chazallon of Château de la Selve. Instead of owning vines, they work with about five neighbouring organic growers, farming roughly 15–20 ha equivalent across varied terroirs: cooler clay-limestone slopes near the Cévennes and warmer, stonier Mediterranean parcels that favour ripe yet fresh fruit. Average vine age is around 25–30 years, with some older Grenache and Syrah. Benoît focuses on minimal-intervention, natural fermentations to produce vibrant, easy-drinking wines—red, white, and rosé—that clearly reflect their Ardèche origins and accessible bistro style.
