Rhone Wine Tasting #3

Domaine des 3 Cellier (Chateauneuf-du-Pape) + North of Rhone Valley

Friday Dec 22 in Sai Kung @ 7pm
Saturday Dec 23 in Midlevels @ 5pm
(time is flexible, pls make arrangement)

The Domaine des 3 Cellier (Chateauneuf du Pape) consists of 24 plots spread in the whole Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape appellation, with different terroirs and with a great diversity of wines, each one revealing a different complexity.

A bigger plot (4 ha) found in the north of the appellation is located on the plateau of the Terres Blanches (White lands). This clay limestone soil is covered with a thick layer of rolled peebles which are heated by the sun during the day, benefiting the grapes during night time.

The great majority of the grapes are Grenache (68%), Mourvèdre (11%) and Syrah (7%) but also Clairette Rose, Counoise, Terret Noir, Vaccarèse and Roussane.

Les Pieds Dendés (Saint Joseph)
Located in the northern Rhône valley, 30 miles in the south of Lyon, Anthony Paret vineyard is planted on sloping hillside, uneven, facing south south-east.
The soils, merely homogeneous, are composed by schist and granite. They are shallow light, permeable and hot.

Domaine Francois et Fils (Cote-Rotie)

This 4Ha Vineyard is based in Ampuis and St Cyr sur Rhone. The François are one of the few remaining multi-generational farms practicing polyculture, with a focus on cheese and wine production. The style offer a fine balance between rusticity and elegance, made by one of the region’s younger winemakers.
