In 1942, Roger Damoiseau senior, a former ICAM & IEG engineer, decided to buy back the Bellevue estate, which had been abandoned until then, but at the cost of a heavy debt. The company therefore resumed a sugar activity by making sweets and jams, after which rum quickly became the main production activity. The company was passed down through the family.
