Domaine Saint-Cyr is a pioneering organic and biodynamic winery in Anse, at the heart of the Pierres Dorées area in southern Beaujolais. Under Raphaël Saint-Cyr’s stewardship since 2008, the estate has expanded to 23 hectares, focusing primarily on Chardonnay and Gamay, with smaller plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté, and Pinot Noir. The unique clay-dominated terroir, more akin to Burgundy than traditional Beaujolais, imparts distinctive minerality and aromatic complexity to the wines. Raphaël is committed to natural winemaking, using minimal additives—14 out of 16 cuvées are completely additive-free. Employing traditional methods like carbonic maceration and even draft horses for harvesting, Domaine Saint-Cyr produces expressive, terroir-driven reds and fresh, mineral-rich whites. The result is a vibrant range of wines that showcase both the fruity elegance of Beaujolais and the structure of renowned crus like Chénas, Morgon, and Moulin-à-Vent.
