THE JOURNEY

Over 30 years ago, the Kandler family arrived by sea when few believed in Languedoc’s potential. They revitalized forgotten parcels between Carcassonne’s medieval citadel and the Canal du Midi, naming their estate after the ancient Gallo-Roman “Pierre du Tourril” signal tower that has guarded this landscape for 2,000 years.

Fun fact: Garrigue terroir is a Mediterranean ecosystem thriving on limestone soils, characterized by aromatic herbs (thyme, rosemary, and lavender) and low growing oaks and juniper.

Today, Stéphane Kandler, (second-generation vintner and former America’s Cup sailor) steers the estate.

Since taking the helm in 2014, he’s championed certified organic farming and a minimalist winemaking philosophy, honoring tradition while charting a fresh course.
